Terms of Service

By creating an account or using CV Tailor (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

CV Tailor uses AI to critique your CV, rewrite it for a specific job description, score keyword match, and generate cover letters and interview-prep materials. We use only the content you provide; we never invent experience, qualifications or skills you have not given us.

The Service is provided “as is”. Outputs are AI-generated and may contain errors — please review every output before using it in a real application.

You must be at least 16 years old to use CV Tailor. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity on your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate anyone else.

You agree not to:

• Upload CVs or content that you don’t have the right to share.
• Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, or contains malicious code.
• Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other technical controls.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or replicate the Service.
• Use the Service to generate fabricated qualifications or experience for fraudulent purposes.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

The Service uses a pay-as-you-go credit system. One credit allows one full tailoring (rewrite + ATS score + cover letter + interview prep). Critiques are free.

• Credits are deducted only after a successful tailoring delivery.
• If a tailoring fails (for example, our honesty check refuses to deliver a rewrite), no credit is charged.
• Credits do not expire.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are in GBP and include any applicable VAT.
• Because credits are digital goods consumed immediately on use, statutory rights of withdrawal under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 do not apply once a credit has been spent. Unspent credit packs purchased within the last 14 days can be refunded on request.
• If we make a billing error, please contact us within 30 days and we’ll correct it.

You keep all rights to the CVs you upload and the content you provide. You grant us a limited licence to process that content to provide the Service (including sending it to our AI processor for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy).

We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider (Anthropic) does not train on data submitted via their API.

We aim to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily limit availability. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party providers (hosting, AI, payments, email).

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost employment opportunities, or losses arising from inaccuracies in AI-generated outputs.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, except where the law does not permit such a limit (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

You can delete your account at any time from account settings. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

On termination, we delete your personal data per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy. Tax-related payment records are retained for 6 years as required by HMRC.

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
